Pods of dolphins slip through rolling, white capped waves in their pursuit of passenger-laden ferries headed toward this tiny island in the Pacific. The iconic theater and ballroom, with its striking terracotta roof and grand architecture, is the first to greet every arrival from its prominent post at the edge of the bay. Locally made pottery and intricate Spanish tiles, inspired by the Galleons that visited centuries ago, adorn Avalon's seaside boulevard and Art Deco storefronts. Sunburned shoulders are cooled by a coastal breeze and quick plunge into sapphire blue waters. Flashes of vivid orange garibaldi can be seen weaving through swaying kelp forests just beneath the wooden planks of the pier, while gulls clamour overhead for fishermen's scraps. Melted ice cream, Fourth of July sparklers, and sandy beach blankets are now as much a part of the island's identity as its bison roaming the rugged hills overlooking Southern California's favorite Pacific pastime.

Ordering

Hand painted surfaces are made to order and processed within 1-2 business days. Standard shipping adds 3 business days unless expedited shipping is requested by email. Shipping time is in addition to processing time.
Updated lead times and temporary delays due to high order volume will be noted on the banner on our home page.

Because items are made to order, returns are kindly declined. Exchanges are welcomed within 30 days of purchase if the item is unused, undamaged, and returned in its original condition with all packaging materials which include the inner cardboard core, white retaining band and branded packaging tube.
Customers are responsible for the return shipping costs on exchanged merchandise.

Flatlay Surfaces arrive rolled on a cardboard core, secured with a retaining band and ribbon, and packaged in our signature branded packaging tube. Orders containing up to 3 same-size painted surfaces will be combined onto a single core and packaged in one branded packaging tube.

FAQs

We recommend keeping some of the following basic items in your kit for quick and easy touch-ups:
White art gum eraser
Soft-bristled brush
Terry cloth rag (the texture is key)
Lint roller or masking tape

Always store your surfaces rolled tightly on the inner core and secured with the retaining band to prevent creasing or waving. Never fold or crease your painted surface. Mild creases or dents can be reduced with gentle heat from an iron on the backside of your mat. More info can be found in our [CARE & CLEANING] guide.
Our 100% linen bag is recommended for easy transport and can fit up to 3 painted surfaces. Linen bags are sized specifically for each type and size of styling surface.
